Vibe: Birthday parties are a great time to ditch Brooklyn, plaid, and copious amounts of PBR for something a little swankier.  Enter New York City’s Boucarou, where the atmosphere’s so classy you’ll forget you’re supposed to act like you’re unimpressed.

Spot: The Lower East Side’s venue for comfortable innovation, Boucarou features a beautifully beiged-out and suede space that fuses the chic with the earthy.  Ever stylish yet very inviting, this is the spot for a relaxed, elegant night of fashionable partying.  Oh, and did we mention the retractable roof?

Grub: The food is something to behold, and should probably be properly savored before you get too tipsy (although it’s definitely better than that slice of pizza you had in mind for later).  A blend of French, Asian, and West African cuisines, Boucarou is perfect for hosting a dinner party people actually want to go to.

The Deal: If you’re looking to host a birthday party that really steps it up in terms of style (and no, buying new Solo cups doesn’t count), Boucarou is a solid choice.  Featuring a vibrant VIP room as well as a very posh space in general, this is the perfect place for a flirty, playful party that makes it worth shaving that hipster mustache you’ve been working on.

Great atmosphere!

Recently, I went to Boucarou with my college friends for some friend of a friends birthday and I was very impressed. We went on a Friday night and it was so easy to get in and there was no cover. From what I remember, we had a large table the entire night and nobody stopped dancing. I have NO idea how I got home or when we left but I looked at the pics and spoke to all my friends who said the place was sick! I remember complimenting the DJ, which means that something was right. Boucarou lounge is a slick spot.
